Built on a Passion for the Sport
Rising Star Academy was founded by people who love badminton and want to pass that love on — a junior development academy based in Queensland, primarily training at the Queensland Badminton Centre in Carole Park.
Our purpose
Developing Athletes, Not Just Players
We believe junior badminton development requires more than putting a large group of children on court and running drills. Our focus is structured coaching, appropriate training intensity and individual attention, so every student has the opportunity to improve.
We deliberately control class sizes and always maintain a maximum coach-to-student ratio of 1:6. That allows our coaches to observe technique, correct mistakes, adjust intensity, group players by ability and monitor progression. While we primarily operate out of the Queensland Badminton Centre, private coaching can also be arranged at other venues by request.
Beyond badminton, the Academy places emphasis on professionalism, sportsmanship, discipline, respect, teamwork and a positive attitude. We want to develop good young athletes and good young people.

Although the Academy is professional and performance-focused, it must also feel welcoming. When a child joins Rising Star Academy, they join a community: our coaches know them by name, families are kept informed, and every student is supported and encouraged as they develop.
